This poem dates back to Junior College, and was selected for publishing in the school’s anthology collection for that year.
My mind is a place where no one is allowed to go.
It’s a realm where the Bandersnatch and Jabberwock fear to tread.
Even the Red Queen claims no ways there.
My mind is a place where no light can be found, where shadows dwell.
Strange noises can be heard, familiar but altogether foreign.
One false step, and you might get hurt.
My mind… My mind is a mess.
It’s cluttered with half finished thoughts, lost words, and trapped bits of song.
If you must enter my mind, bring a flashlight and some twine.
For the pull string is broken and the path is unmarked.
Please, watch your step.
