Why’d they have to kill him?

I’ve been watching Stargate Atlantis on Netflix Instant watch the past couple of weeks (I’ve only caught episodes here and there when it was on TV) and I just got done watching “Sunday”. I don’t know if it is a testament to good writing, or at least good character creation and development, but I bawled my eyes out at the end of it. This is the episode where they killed off Dr. Beckett, and he was my favorite character on the show. I knew from some of the later episodes that something happened to him, I just didn’t know the “when”, “where”, and “how” of it..

I know it is common practice to “kill off” characters, and Dr. Beckett did receive more dignity in that regard than many, but I am still unhappy. I guess it serves me right… I have the tendency to kill off some of my own characters, but some of them at least deserve it! šŸ˜›

  1. I wish I had seen this show to have a more engaging comment to post. However I find it funny that when I ran across your blog one of the South Park characters pops up as your icon…and you are talking about killing off characters…just seemed funny to me.
