I’ve been watching Stargate Atlantis on Netflix Instant watch the past couple of weeks (I’ve only caught episodes here and there when it was on TV) and I just got done watching “Sunday”. I don’t know if it is a testament to good writing, or at least good character creation and development, but I bawled my eyes out at the end of it. This is the episode where they killed off Dr. Beckett, and he was my favorite character on the show. I knew from some of the later episodes that something happened to him, I just didn’t know the “when”, “where”, and “how” of it..
I know it is common practice to “kill off” characters, and Dr. Beckett did receive more dignity in that regard than many, but I am still unhappy. I guess it serves me right… I have the tendency to kill off some of my own characters, but some of them at least deserve it! 😛
